Bloomington students advance to state history competition

Bloomington’s Oak Grove and Olson middle schools will be well represented at the State History Day competition on May 4 at the University of Minnesota. Students will compete individually or as part of a group in exhibit, documentary, performance, website or paper categories.
 
The state competition will include finalists from the 13 regional competitions throughout the state. State winners will compete in the National History Day, June 9-13 at the University of Maryland, College Park.
 
Bloomington’s state History Day qualifiers and honorable mention recipients:
 
Oak Grove Middle School
Jordan Brezinka, Keegan Hoffer, Noah DeBruin, Siobhan Dietz, Brianna Larson, Grace Werner, Sonia Olson, Zachary George, Scott Cameron, Isaac Kasahara, Connor Meany, Lachlan Anders-MacLeod, Nathan Glenna, Savannah Austreng, Evelynn Lennon, Harsh Parikh, Elias Sinner, Katie Dums and Liam Williams. Honorable mention recipient: Jocelyn Jaimez.
 
Olson Middle School
John Lindholm, Elena Hayday, Michaela Gilbertson and Mae Freeman. Honorable Mention recipient: David Floeder.
